Job Title: ROOM ATTENDANT
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Housekeeping Manager
Rate of Pay: $8.00/Hour
Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Monday through Sunday, days off vary each week
Part time, seasonal
MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly


SUMMARY
Maintain the cleanliness of all Sundance lodging units. Follow Sundance Housekeeping protocols for cleanliness and safety.

Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for checking out keys from Safety.
Responsible for checking out radio from the housekeeping office.
Responsible for alerting housekeeping supervisors which room they are cleaning by dialing the appropriate code on the lodging unit phone.
Responsible for changing the linens on the beds and in the bathrooms.
Responsible for cleaning bathrooms in accordance with housekeeping procedures: showers, tubs, sinks, toilets, counters, mirrors and floors.
Responsible for placing amenities in lodging units: shampoo, soap, body wash, lotion, conditioner, coffee, creamers, cocoa, teas, etc.
Responsible for cleaning the kitchens-refrigerator, sinks, dishes, and counter tops.
Responsible for dusting.
Responsible for removing all trash.
Responsible for vacuuming.
Responsible for reporting any broken items to supervisor.
Responsible for alerting housekeeping supervisors that they are leaving the room by dialing the appropriate code on the lodging unit phone and/or via radio.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position: minimizing waste, recycling, energy conservation, purchase and use of sustainable products, education on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats.

DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest’s impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest’s expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:

All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Housekeeping staff are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
The Housekeeping Uniforms consists of the following:
Blue jeans or khaki pants (without fancy embroidery )
Sundance issued shirt, sweatshirt, or coat
Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Men’s shirts must be tucked in – no exceptions.
Appropriate skirt/shorts length is from the knee to the ankle.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing. Clothes that are too baggy or tight are not permitted.
If an additional layer of clothing is needed for warmth while on duty, it must either be Sundance issued or it must be warn underneath the uniform and not visible (except in the collar area)
Hats may be warn, but must be PRE-APPROVED by manager
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Flip flops and sport sandals (tevas/chacos,etc) are prohibited in all areas.
Tennis shoes are permitted, but must be in good repair and not too flashy.
No open-toed shoes

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers’ License in good standing as determined by Sundance’s Insurance Company guidelines.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee must be able to work in extreme outdoor weather conditions to move from one lodging unit to another. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must be 18 years of age or older
